The storyteller was musical and he showed
us how to play the instruments. It was funny and I laughed.

We went to Tui classroom. A Maori person
(storyteller) came. He was really good at playing musical instruments. He read
a book to us about a lolly tree.

On Thursday I went to the storyteller and
it was amazing. I liked his musical instruments. I liked how he did the sun
with the string and we did a poem. He had a bird bone and he blew into a shell.
He told a story.

Today a storyteller came to our school. He
played all his musical instruments for us. He stayed for one hour. The
storyteller’s name was Apirana Taylor. He was a musician, an actor, a painter
and a storyteller. He read us a book with a story called The Lolly Tree. His music
was beautiful. I loved it!
He made a sun out of string. He used string
to tell us a story about a boy and a grandma. Once there was a sun- not a good
sun. The sun was always silly. It went too slowly and too quickly. People got
angry with the sun. So they captured the sun. One of them said “Behave
yourself”.
