Understanding Plants

A few of the things we learnt about plants:
Plants like stinging nettle can be used for medicine. You cook it and it’s good for eczema. Evie
Seven stings from a stinging nettle can kill a guinea pig. Ruby
Rafflesia grows on other plants. After seven years it grows above the ground then it attracts flies. Gabriel
A type of butterfly lives on stinging nettle. Hamish
The most fascinating thing I learnt was that with wind pollinated plants not all of the pollen lands on the other plants. Cordelia
Flax can be used to heal cuts on your body. Agnes
Some plants can be a little bit harmful and some can be helpful.  Nic

Some seeds are designed to fly so they spread out further. One seed is a bit like a helicopter and if you find one and drop it, the seed will twirl down to the ground. It is called a sycamore. Luke
