Zumba
On Friday someone from Zumba came. Zumba is when you do different dances like Salsa or Bollywood dancing and many other dances. We did lots of different actions. We went side-by-side and spun around.
After a few dances the lady picked some people to go on the stage and do the dance that she was doing. She picked four people at a time. There were lots of hands up to get picked to go on stage and do the dance.
It also has different music: some from New Zealand, India and from Bollywood but most of the songs were from New Zealand.
Then we walked back to class. I was really, really tired.

Maths Measuring
Our class made a pirate ship out of chalk. We put a front
mast, middle mast, back mast, a flag, cannons, a plank, a crow’s nest and an
anchor. We measured the ship. We also estimated the mast and the plank. But my
group didn’t put a crow’s nest.

We discovered that when we used chalk to draw our pirate
ship it was ginormous. It was ten metres long. Its middle mast was five metres.
Both its back and front masts were four metres tall.

Hockey
On Tuesday we have hockey training. We play hockey bullrush. It is so much fun and it is good exercise. We also play numbers. It is a game where you try to get as many points as you can. Who ever gets the most points wins. I am going to tell you how to get a point. First you get given a number out of one, two, three, four or five. Next you listen for your number. When your number is called out you pick up a hockey stick and go out on the court. Then we play against the other team. We had two goals. If one of the players hits the ball in their goal they get a point. If a player hits the ball in the other team's goal that player's team gets a point.

Sometimes Weka class goes to hockey training because it is a good skill and it is a good fast game. We had numbers one to five (my number was five) and it was the same on the other team. The fives v.s. fives the ones v.s. ones. My team didn't win because the other team had really good people. The rules about hockey: you have to keep your stick down below the knees and keep your head up.

Move It Day
On Wednesday some of the school brought their scooters and
some brought their tennis rackets. People rode their scooters on the court at
lunchtime. Another thing that was going on was Jump Jam outside Piwakawaka and
Tui. Tennis was on the Senior court.
