We are a wonderful group of Year 2 and 3 students at Saint Paul's Catholic School in Richmond, at the top of the South Island. Our teachers are Mrs Bryant and Mrs McTague. We hope you enjoy sharing our blog. Your comments are welcome.

Our Place bus trip
We came upon this statue on one of the many stop-overs we made, as we cruised about 'our place' on the double-decker bus. We had task sheets to do and information to gather, to help us understand who settled in our area first, and how they lived. This chap, whose statue is near the beach at Tahunanui, is Abel Janszoon Tasman. I bet we all know now, why the Abel Tasman National Park has that particular name!
